Hamara Bajaj... Letting go is not easy

A whole generation grew up in the 60s, 70s and 80s, dreaming of owning it. Bajaj scooters, one of the aspirations of the Indian middle class for decades, will soon be part of history. There was a time when Bajaj scooters ruled the roost on Indian roads. Supers and Chetaks were the order of the day; Lambys had become unfashionable and Vespas tried to compete but just had to stay eating dust. And bikes with 100 km a litre had not captured the imagination of the masses.

If in those days one had to picture a quintessential middle class Indian family, it would be a snap of a Bajaj scooter with: the father driving, trying hard to concentrate on the task at hand - of herding his family safely to their destination; the younger kid, standing in the front, wind rushing through the hair, elation written on the face at this chance of discovering the world outside; the mother, sitting sideways, clucthing the stepney tire, with a rather vacant expression; and the elder kid sandwiched between both parents, twisting his head this side and the other, desperately trying not to miss the view on account of his position. Driving further this picture into the Indian psyche was the famous “Hamara Bajaj” advert; the idea behind which was clearly that a family isn’t complete (or middle enough) without a Bajaj.

And what a vehicle it was. Not particularly appealing to look at, it made up for the lack in the looks by its sheer versatility in usage, its durability on Indian roads and the fact that whatever the problem be it would probably be solved by tilting the vehicle for 30 seconds at an angle of thirty degrees. A popular joke - “The Indian rocket did not fire. What to do? Just tilt it for a second.” said the sardarji and it worked - only helped to reinforce the hold of this vehicle on the Indian mind.

After ruling the india scooter market over 50 years, Bajaj Auto, the company which developed a scooter market with its popular Hamara Bajaj campaign invoking trust and reliability, today said it is phasing out scooter production, keeping the focus on motorcycles. Accroding to report Bajaj phasing out the productiong of Bajaj Scooter to focus on its motorcycle production.

Aami Marathi Manus

"Aami Marathi Manus" well said by Bala Thakrey. He must not be said as an Indian. An Indian must not have such a narrow mind. Once for a life time... Bala has to asked himself what he has done for his Maharashtra. If he has done anything, than Bala has to go and see the slums, footpaths and redlight areas, where life is going what we say... Marthi Manus. They don't have any right to say anything about Sachin. Because these people who so ever saying anything... they are very little in front of Sachin's icon. They want just a cheap publicity by criticizing Sachin. If Sachin is not a true Marathi than I must say Bala Thakrey is a True Marathi (Not a Indian At All).

India International Trade Fair (IITF) to begin in Delhi from November

THE ANNUAL trade fair begins in Delhi from November 14. This 29th India International Trade Fair (IITF) will last for 14 days, attracting large crowds from all over the country with the first six days now reserved for ‘business-visitors’.
The authorities should increase the duration of this fair to at least 30 days with increased timings from 8 am till midnight to ease the ever-increasing rush at the fair. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) then can also be requested to increase trip timings accordingly.
Right now if fair happens for only eight hours, which isn't sufficient for the large visitors. It becomes difficult for that large crowd to cater in 6 days in a year.
Number of visitors have increased substantially from the time of inception of this event. Due to in during this event people face alot of problems due to traffic jam and other.
As the no of visitors increasing, govt has to think about moving this event to a larger area where this even can accommodate the such a larger crowd.

Now That You're Rich.. Lets Fall in Love

Now That You're Rich.. Lets Fall in Love is a beautiful fictional novel by duo young Indian authors Manvi Ahuja and Durjoy Datta.

This story is about 4 friends, their past, how they met under one roof in Investment Bank, the work pressure they had to face while working in an investment bank, how they balanced their personal life - their friendship which was their family, romance, love and their practical life - life in investment bank, high perks, sexy and hot colleagues, loads of work and recession.

It is different from the other love stories or stories about geeks from IIT which actually "is in" or the buzz now days. It is the story about friendship and love in corporate life. These friends are already in the big league earning 3 million a year and now they think is the time to fall in love, make friends, have fun, live life kingsize. But is it the right time to make friends, to fall in love, to romance, to have sex - in short to enjoy the life? Or was it the time for them to work for 15 -18 hours or even more, consider investment bank as their first home and go to their actual home just twice a week and in return face daily complaints, threats and what not from their seniors or from HR head only because girls did not agree to sleep with their horny boss and guys wanted to enjoy their life a little bit along with their work.

However after struggling and working nights and days, they somehow are able to manage their work as well as their friendship, but was it enough? May be yes or may be NO as something was waiting for them which they have never dreamt of - "RECESSION"

The story revolves around Abhi, Saurav, Garima and Shruti.
Abhi was a topper in his college and was placed in MNC paying him good but not fat salary. All he wanted was to be rich and that’s why he joins x The Silverman Finance an Investment Bank.. He belongs to a poor family and was very shy to talk to any girl in his college, except with Riya.

Saurav was an IITian and his friends always used to pull his leg for being a virgin. He was fortunate not because he got placed in Silverman Finance but because his dad was a millionaire, strange isn't? Dad millionaire, then why IIT? And why Silverman Finance? Whatever!! Something must be there for him.

Garima a rich, beautiful and a single child whom any one would love to marry. She had a boyfriend. Very quiet not so social and very serious about her love. You will hardly find such girl now days, who is rich and serious about her love affair. She also got through Silverman Finance, thank god as she wanted some change in her life, but why a change is something which you find out as the story progresses.

Shruti a sexy, hot and charming lass, comes from a middle class family. Any one would fall for her; at least she would do wonders in bed. She was in love, something which her parents won't allow, actually her selfish parents won't allow. She belongs to a family where she never wished to stay even for a moment. Her parents want her to get married to some one who can give them money to fulfill their debts and they would never allowed Shruti to work. But when they heard that Shruti got placed in Silverman Finance and was paid 30 lacs a year, they made few calculations and allowed her to continue with the job till she get married.

They all met in Silverman Finance, their friendship began and as the days passed it started getting stronger and stronger. Some of them fall in love again and again!! But circumstances changed and Shruti had to do something which none of them could ever have imagined. They all were shocked and their trust broken, they could no longer understand each other. And they departed.....

Apart from these four, there are lots of interesting characters who add their own spice making this book incredible –

A nasty old lady HR Head, who loves to screw up the life of juniors.

A Horny boss - always looking for a chance to sleep with their mates or juniors

Immediate mentors- trying to help the four but could not because they are as well worried about their position, their job and love.

To add further twist Ex-girlfriend comes back but with new story and new boyfriend.

Son of business tycoon, who makes someone fall in love with him.

Do they ever unite again? What happens to their friendship which they called their family? What about their love? Did Recession threaten to take away their job or their friendship, their love? Were they actually rich? Hmm… If so did they fall in love? Did girls sleep with their boss? Did they get what they wanted?

What do you guys think? Well I think you need to read it immediately to know whether they could retain their friends or their job or both.

The Zoya Factor by Anuja Chauhan – Review

This is the latest book from the joint venture of Harper collins and the India Today Group. The cover photo of the book depicts a bat , a ball, an impression of a kiss and some flowery twirls around them. What idea does that give you? You guessed it right! Cricket. Cricket. And more of cricket with all the bollywood masala sprinkled like mozzarella cheese on a pepperoni pizza.

Admittedly, it started off very well , I must say. The first few chapters made me crack up with laughter every now and then. Nothing in this story can be even remotely called subtle. Everything is blown to the full!

Zoya Solanki, the female protagonist is a 27 year old professional working in the service sector of an advertising company. One would expect some amount of maturity due for her age and stature. But Zoya comes across as a ‘just out of the college kiddo’, whose world revolves around her romances and her beaus. More often than not, she is portrayed in ‘he loves me….he loves me not’ scenarios, ranting and raving constantly about her lost loves. Oh please…give us a break! Pity stunts!

Then there is Nikhil Khoda, the male protagonist , as well as the Indian skipper. Undoubtedly, he was characterized solely based on Dhoni, both in looks as well as nature. Right from the brown ‘toffee’ skin, Boost ads, to being a small towner…….it is Dhoni to the T! There are a few other characters that show uncanny resemblances to some cricketers we know.

The whole story is based on a ridiculous superstition of the Indian cricket team that, Zoya Solanki is a lucky charm for them! So much so that, they never lose a single match when they have breakfast with her and the one whom she kisses emerges as the Man of the Match!! Roll your eyes all you want because that’s exactly what I did, albeit a few hundred times, while reading the book. And ofcourse, there is the budding romance between the skipper and Zoya which goes on and off………on and off…..

But apart from this dismal and outrageous storyline, what really makes this a good one time read is that quite often you can actually relate to the language they speak, the scenarios in a working environment and ofcourse the absolute madness and mayhem that exists during an ongoing World Cup Tournament.

Anuja Chauhan has taken this platform to showcase her God-only -knows-why grudges against a few companies like Pepsi (disguised as Zing), Nike, Sony, etc to name a few. I believe it gives her some amount of wicked satisfaction in doing so ;P or it even might be her way of getting back at them for her own reasons! Nevertheless, they provide nice seasoning to the otherwise predictable storyline.

Being what she is, Anuja delivers some really original and absolutely hilarious one-liners in ‘Hinglish’ which can leave you on the floor laughing. This is best part of the book, according to me. All in all, a good one time read that leaves your ribs tickled but nothing else to remember , just like a commercial Bollywood movie.

Love is knowing all about someone.....

“I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.”...........

LETTING GO TAKES LOVE

To let go does not mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone else. To let go is not to cut myself off, it's the realization I can't control another. To let go is not to enable,
but allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
it's to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for,
but to care about.
To let go is not to fix,
but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective,
it's to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny,
but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more
and
To let go and to let God, is to find peace !

Remember: The time to love is short

Island Of Feelings...

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all repaired their boats and left. Love was the only one who stayed.

Love wanted to persevere until the last possible moment. When the island was almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help. Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you." Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel, "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered. Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me go with you." "Oh...Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!" Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her!Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the elder her name. When they arrived on dry land, the elder went her own way. Love, realizing how much he owed the elder, asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who helped me?""It was Time," Knowledge answered."Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is.
